Ferrari have been first to show their new car. And first reports from the anotherf1podcast techinical gurus show it’s still red and not as ugly as we feared the 2009 cars could be.

I think the pointy nose looks alright, though is it so pointy it can puncture a tyre from behind? Will 2009 be a bit of a wacky races year.

The F60 features longditudinally-mounted carbon fibre-cased gearbox and has a new Brembo designed braking system.

…which is the first thing I thought when I saw it.

The car has KERS but they are still not saying whether that’ll be in it for the first race, or, indeed whether the system they have on this launch car is the real finished working thing, or whether it’s a just a dummy thing that looks about right but doesn’t do anything, like in mobile phone shops.
